INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette Manual (for kits with pre-filled cartomizers)

Thank you for choosing the INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette.  Please read this manual carefully before using the INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette.  Doing so will help you with the full E-Smoking experience.  We cannot stress enough that the cartomizers may contain nicotine (if purchased in the United States) and nicotine can be harmful to children and pets.  Your electronic cigarette hardware, cartomizers and accessories should be treated no different than tobacco cigarettes, lighters, and accessories.  PLEASE KEEP IT OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS.

The Battery

The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette uses a 3.6V lithium ion battery which cannot be replaced with other lithium batteries and chargers.  The input supply voltage of the charger is AC100-240V, 50/60Hz, or DC 6-24V.  The battery will work for a minimum of 200 charges. The batteries you received may or may not have an INSTEAD logo printed on them. You should have received 2 batteries in your kit.

The Charger

To charge the battery, plug the wall cord into the charger and plug into the electrical outlet.  The indicator light on the charger will be green.  Screw the battery into the charger.  The LED on the end of the battery will flash when the connection is made.  The light on the charger will change from green to red.  It will take a couple hours to charge the battery. When the light on the charger returns to green, charging is done.

The Cartomizers

A cartomizer looks like a cigarette butt. It contains the liquid along with a small heating element to vaporize the liquid or “e-liquid” as it is known in the industry. Cartomizers should not be refilled with e-liquid. Once a cartomizer is out of liquid (i.e. they don’t produce vapor anymore), through it away. One cartomizer will yield approximately 150 puffs or about 15 cigarettes worth. Those with smaller inhales will get more puffs.

Using Your Electronic Cigarette

Charge one of the batteries. Screw a cartomizer onto the battery. Use as you would a tobacco cigarette. The light on the end of battery will glow as you inhale.

NOTE: When the light on the end of the battery blinks, you need to recharge it.

NOTE: When you no longer get vapor, but your battery is charged, you need to replace the cartomizer.

Nicotine in Canada

If you are in Canada, please note that due to Health Canada regulations, we do not sell e-liquid or cartomizers with nicotine. However, many smokers still find it a suitable alternative to smoking tobacco and get their nicotine from other sources (cigarettes, gum, patch, etc.) if needed.

What’s In The Vapor?

The vapor is made up of propylene glycol, glycerin, water, flavoring, and if available and chosen, nicotine. These substances are found in many consumer products.
